I love this place! The owners, Jordan and Sarah, are extremely friendly, and they've put a lot of hard work into this place. My favourite is the turkey wrap with eggplant and hot peppers.

They get their bread from Art-Is-In Bakery...the 12 grain fennel is delicious.

Jordan and Sarah both completed a barista course in Michigan, which explains their good coffee.

All their coffee is Intelligentsia direct trade coffee.

This is where people who live in Westboro and work downtown go for their coffee break! ;-) It's trendy and the products are best in class. As they must be. Opening a coffee house just a stone's throw from Ottawa's Little Italy with all its caffes can only be described as gutsy.

Wifey and I were thrilled with the quality of our respective Cappuccino and Americano. We received paper cups by default, so be sure to specify if you plan to "eat in" and would prefer a ceramic cup (with its preferable lack of paper flavour).

We also tried a banana chocolate chip muffin, which was good but not abnormally so, and a raspberry scone, which was very nice in a wholesome way rather than a decadent way.

Interior seating is limited to a few stools at a bar along the window. Some other tables look like they would be used in the winter, but for now they are pushed aside to make room for the throngs of customers. Three tables on the cozy patio provide a welcome place to bask in the mid-morning sun, where you can eavesdrop on the conversations of those who purport to be working and are thus able to sit for longer than a scheduled coffee break. :-)

wow thanks for bringing attention to this place Pej Daddy! It looks so charming and the pictures are great - it looks like a fun little place to grab a bite. And who wouldn't like to be served by a smiling beautiful waitress ;) I'll try it out next time I'm around the area. Thanks again Pej Daddy

Pej Daddy: You sure did eat a lot on one visit. Not that you describe your visit at all....

As previously noted by another user, I really wish this place was open on the weekend... even one day for just the morning! I feel like I'm missing out on something here... the descriptions remind me a bit of the Matter of Taste coffee shop in Kitchener (amazingly skilled baristas, really good coffee).

dire caffeine fix and lunch during a break on a busy work day. rerouted to pay a visit to the morning owl located near little italy. what a strikingly attractive and funky exterior design on approach! this location is center ice, a perfect location to tap into core of stably employed NRCanners and public servants (aka: coffee break society) in the booth street area.

you're warmly greeted by jordan and sarah. you can't help but appreciate the cheery service and enthusiasm seen in this very young irish couple ANNND it was very impressive to see all the impeccable and hard work they put in to create this place from the ground up!

the morning owl is where it's at for meatballs subs!!! uber tasty on a nice grilled whole wheat panini. forget the prescott, forget subway, forget quiznos, forget parma ravioli.

sarah, the barista with vortexual sleight of hand technique with the frothy milk while it pours into the coffee.

SO, so happy to find these in Ottawa. They're just like I remember from my trip to New Zealand!

Best Americano I've had at a commercial establishment in Ottawa.

You'll notice that it takes a little longer for the barista to prepare your beverage than you might be used to. If you pay attention you can see how careful she is with her craft. And the results are definitely a step above!

"he [jordan] MUST be crazy... he's so nice!"
myself + 1 popped over and realised the shop was closed on weekends... today (sunday) we were just hoping for the best.
lucky for us, jordan was there and let us in to grab some coffee, then sent us away with it on the house!

they are beyond expectations, service is so very personable and sincere; plus great sandwiches!

oh, and the cappuccino was solid.

they're very good at getting customer loyalty ^^
