I was just there for Brunch after the Santa Claus parade and the food was only okay. I got the Big breakfast that came with a waffle, and my girlfriend got the standard 'bacon-and-eggs' breakfast. We both found the food to be a bit dry and tasteless. The waffle did come with real maple syrup which was nice. Everything was edible but not enjoyable. The service was good and I liked the coffee, but I don't think I'd hurry back anytime soon.
We went to the Corner Bar on Friday and night and the servers were very accomodating for our large group. It was a nice change from the Royal Oak. They had a great menu and decent beer selection.
I had the vegetarian sandwich - grilled eggplant and peppers on a ciabatta with a red pepper mayo. It was great - very filling and I took the second half home for the next day.
My only complaints are: I was disappointed with their wine selection (only a house red and house white and a 'feature' wine) and it was waaay too hot in the restaurant. But I'll go back.
We used to eat here all the time for breakfast when in the Glebe. Not a huge fan of the dinner fare but the Breakfast is the best we have found in the city so far.
