Came across this group and I just HAD to join.
Born and raised in Ottawa. Also love traveling and try to get away several times a year if possible. Just returned from South America (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay) - some great and not so great food experiences, but it's all good.
Foods I don't particulary like, but might eat to be polite - green peas, caviar, liver (but I LOVE pate).
Favourite foodie trip so far was experiencing the many flavours of South Africa - spent a month there a couple of years ago. The braai's, the Cape Malay cuisine, the traditional african foods, just wonderful. Can't wait to get back there!

P.S.: We have been known to drive Montreal just for the afternoon because we had a taste for good smoked meat! :-)
