I live on the West Coast where the sushi's great but you're forced to go to A&W if you want poutine(!) In the past I lived in Ottawa for a full calendar year. During that time, my wife and I enjoyed many fine meals out. I enjoy thinking back to our favourites and look forward to revisiting Bytowne armed with new knowledge of where to sup. I should add that the periods I lived in Ottawa were summer of 2002 and fall/winter of 2003/2004. My knowledge and comments are therefore likely outdated.
I recently discovered the name to my greatest joy in the world of food: umami. In light of this new knowledge, I'm thinking of naming my next child Umi. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umami for details.
Oh, and Fresh Foodie and I shared a bedroom until I was 12-ish.
My new profile pic was taken at the Asian Night Market in Richmond, BC. If you're ever in the Vancouver area in the summer, make sure you check it out. Phenomenal food and you really feel like you could be in one of Asia's cleaner cities.
